Ealing Council’s second consultation on the plans to dispose of the Victoria Hall raises further issues affecting the Charitable Trust that manages the Hall. After further discussions with the Council about its plans, Ealing Voice has prepared new guidance for people wishing to respond to the second consultation.
The deadline for comments is March 2nd. The Council’s General Purposes sub committee will then consider what happens at a meeting scheduled for March 15th.
I do not think that it is right to hand over a public asset such as Victoria Hall to a private company. I cannot judge whether or not it would be lawful to do so, but I certainly believe that it would be inconsistent both with the original intention of those behind the building, and the long-term interests of the people of Ealing.
